Big Weekend, Little Week
This past weekend started with a large amoutn of gaming, wich to be honest has left me a bit burned out for the remaider fo the week. I Played through the first half of the Vegas 2 Campaign with Sprigan on Realistic on saturday, whcih was really entertaining. I Can see it being much more difficult single player, but the co-op hits a nice balance.
Sunday & Monday were mostly spend mooching around on Skate 2, which still has me very much enthralled. The death races are particularly entertaining in my opinion, they seem a bit more lively than the last games ones. Probably helped by the mountain no doubt. Anniedele also very much enjoys watching the Hall of Meat challenges, which has led to many hours of her egging me on to try and cause myself further injuries. A particularly frustrating photo Op that left me being constantly knocked over by some idiot doing the same thing as me resulted in one pad throw and a cool down shower, after wich it was promptly crushed like every other challenge put before me! Ha!
Tuesday saw another day off from work, and a meeting with the sole purpose of defeating a map on Expert mode in left 4 dead. 4 1/2 hours later, we had got to the last mission, but the tank and stupid A.I. players were our undoing time and again. I definately feel i’ve improved, especially as the Director really ramps up the size of the hordes on Expert with 3 people playing compared to 2 (Unless this has been changed slightly post patch..) I will do this, one day.
An evening on Halo 3 finished the day off nicely, but since then i haven’t managed to do anything bar pick up New York Times Crosswords, which is good if a little tricky for my english mind. The Way their crosswords work is quite different to what i’m used to, which added to the americanisms on offer has made some words just… odd!

Attempt to get back on track #01
Ok, so i havn’t blogged in a while, but thats mainly because i’ve been to busy sitting slack jawed infront of my 360. Since the last post, i’ve failed to get much further with mother, mainly because the 2 trips i’ve been on lacked either a) power to my GBA or b) headphones for the battles.
As for Lara, i’m afraid there’s just been much better games to be playing. I’ve been hitting fallout Hard lately, around 60 hours in now with a level 14 saintly creature who’s penchant for exploring and side quests have left me with lots of storyline almost discarded thus far. I’ve barely even started the main story line, i’ve been so happy just wandering around the place and taking every little thing out of the wastes to sell. The stupid thing is that even though i’m doing that, by the time you take into account repairs and expended bullets and stimpacks etc. i’m probably not that much better off. I have found myself in some lovely places though, and with some great experiences from it all. I doubt this is the last you’ve heard on Fallout 3.
Rock Band 2 has also hit the 360, and it’s just as fun as the last one. Me and Anniedele ar eexclusively hard players now, although it’s *really* hard on some songs, usually it’s been the ones i’ve liked the most tune wise that have been the hardest on the drums :( I’ve also been playing Bass when it gets late, which is pretty straight forwards compared to the guitar, but still great fun on most of the tracks (Bar beastie boys….)
The other biggie is Left 4 Dead, of which i only have the demo, but damn that demo is good! Got to play the 4 on 4 round a friends house over the weekend, and it’s beyond fun! I really can’t wait to hit the LAN party with it. I am rubbish with all the zombies bar the boomer, but then you can’t win ‘em all.
The real key on this blog now is how long it takes to get the next one up isn’t it…..

Mother 3
I’ve been following the mother 3 fan translation pretty much since it began. I’ve not played earthbound right through, but after picking up a fan soundtrack a few years back which i listened to loads, i sort of began to become attached to the series. I picked up a new flash linker so i could play through it on my micro, and it was worth all of the 20 pounds i payed for it. Its a nice, well thought out RPG that seems to tick along nicely, i’ve not felt any need to grind, and the rythm based combo attacking is a welcome Diversion to proceedings to give a bit of extra reason to listen to the *great* music.
The other reason that i haven’t posted all week is that Civ now has myself and anniedele firmly in it’s grasp. Every night we’re in it gets played all night, to the detriment of work, cooking, cleaning and football. Although Fable 2 is now on the horizon, and i’m fairly tempted to pick that up….
