Why I won’t be buying Pure

After trying the pure demo, a couple of times on monday, i was quite hyped for a game that i’d not heard much about previously. Which is the great thing about a good demo. It really got me and anniedele into that excite truck vibe, only now with nice Hi Def graphics. After playing the hell out of Excite truck on our wii in multi player, i was convinced that it would be a natural step up for the both of us, offering a bit of a new challange, whilst keeping that same arcady trick and boost feel that we both enjoyed so much.

Fast forwards to about 3 mins ago. I thought i’d see if i could get some more info, so hopped on over to the xbox.com page for pure. You see we now have a problem. I can play with 16 players online, but it’s only single player offline. Which means the real reason i want it, to play sittting next to somebody, is not there.

I really think this is a massive problem with todays gaming consoles. A quick flick through the 360 Multiplayer database tells me that there’s really not many games that let you play more than one player per console. I’ve heard complaints from superoll before, where he owns carcassone on the 360, but there’s no hotseat mode, so he can’t play with anyone else. Same thing goes for Civ Rev. As far as i can see no reason why you couldn’t hotseat them. there’s not even the issue of prossessing power that may crop up on split screen.

I’m sure i could carry on ranting, but i think i’ve got this off my chest.

Civ Rev

I Like watching anniedele play Civ Rev, it’s very relaxing. I wish it would go down in price somewhere so we can buy it, although we’re manageing ok with just the demo at the minute. If only there was more destruction. Anniedele tends to like the cultural victory.
